Access Better Living Inc./Vie indépendente et enrichie provides services to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
We own a 15-unit supportive housing apartment building with 24-hour staffing. Staff assist tenants with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, bowel and bladder routines, other elements of personal care, meal preparation and light housekeeping. Independent living assistants work 24-hours per day on shift-work. We also provide these services to adults living in their own homes within the community.
We offer respite care to families who are caring for a family member with a developmental disability. This program has both a children's and adult's system, along with offering in-home and out-of-home options to receive respite. Respite workers are recruited, screened, trained and managed by the organization.

The Timmins and District Hospital (T&DH) is a level C, fully accredited referral and teaching hospital serving the residents of the City of Timmins and Cochrane District as well as the adjoining areas of the Temiskaming, Sudbury and Algoma districts.
Our hospital is centrally situated in Network 13 under the Northeast LHIN (#13) and is the referral hospital for the other Network 13 hospitals and neighbouring communities for special medical (i.e.oncology, dialysis), special surgical (i.e. orthopedics, gynecology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology) advanced diagnostic ((i.e. Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI) Schedule One psychiatric and critical care services. T&DH houses 159 beds hospital wide and has approximately 850 frontline staff and 68 medical staff. The hospital is a leader in state-of-the-art telecommunications and medical and diagnostic equipment.
