Income Tax

Anyone in Canada who is currently employed is required to pay income tax.  The amount of income tax you will be required to pay will depend on your income level.  Your employer will automatically deduct a set amount of income tax from your pay cheque.  At year-end you will be required to file your income tax with Revenue Canada, at which time the amount you paid will be assessed.  If you have overpaid your income tax, you will receive a refund.  However, if you have underpaid, you will be required to pay the balance.  To find out more about income tax please visit the Canada Revenue Website.
