Employer Tools
Over the next decade, Canada will face a collective labour shortage. By 2026, it is anticipated that one in every eight jobs openings will go unfilled*.
With an aging population and a declining birth rate, immigration has become the major source of population growth and a critical source of skilled labour for Canada. Research suggests that by 2016, all of Canada's net labour force growth will come from immigration and newcomers will account for all net population growth by 2031*.
As an employer, strategic human resources planning has become critical. Attracting and sustaining a skilled work force will rely on the ability to recruit from the essential talent pool of skilled immigrants. Internationally educated professionals offer invaluable experience, skill sets, and expertise.
Many resources are available to educate and assist employers in the attraction, integration and retention of skilled newcomers.
